Way back in 1997 when I first heard about Yahoo , I thought Shammi Kapoor owned the site :-) ( He was the president of Indian Internet Users Assoc then) . There have been numerous versions as to why it is named as Yahoo in my Quizzing Groups. Here is one from the Horse's mouth (from the Yahoo Site ) .
