Nobel Peace Prize

It is heartening to see that the Nobel Prize for Peace has been awarded to Wangari Maathai , a Kenyan environmental activist,whose Green belt movement has been responsible for planting of more than 30 million trees. Normally Peace prize is awarded to people who prevent armed conflicts. Its a wonderful positive step by the Nobel Committee to recognise the magnitude of environmental conservation.
