Vada Pav - Dispensing Machines

It is the " food" of Mumbai . I am an unabashed fan of Vada Pav ( for almost a year Vada Pav and Lassi used to be my breakfast). Was surprised to read that an entrepreneur in Mumbai has started a Vada Pav franchisee based on Western Style . The " Jumbo King" Vada Pav uses dispensing machines and clean packaging ( a la Mac/Burger King Style) and prides itself on its Hygiene. A vada Pav costs Rs.6 and the chain has outlets near key Mumbai local stations. Click here to read more on this.

Wish they open a franchisee in Singapore !

  • It's surprising that we dont have any desi fast food chains outside of India. I am sure they will make good business if they venture into this on a global basis.

  • This post bring back memories because I had my very first vada pav last week in chicago. Damn! it was good.

By reading the article, I get an impression that it comes close to a burger. I hope that the things dont get customized too much.

  • Twin-Gemini, Yeah right. With a huge NRI Population, this is an untapped segment.I am confident that its about to change though.

Kaatss, Cool. Welcome to the Club.

  • Dont like it either.
Not good for my tummy, stomach gets upset the very minute i eat a vada-pav. Any day will prefer idli's.
Just like a burger, u can get a vada-pav and eat it on ur own to office or wherever ur going. In mumbai where u dont have time for anything, this is it, vada-pav zindabad.
Been here in pune for a long time, still not a puneikar :)
