Ban on Child Labor
The Indian Govt has passed a comprehensive law banning the Child Labor . A welcome move and a much needed legislation that should have been passed long ago.The Hindu says, " The Government has banned employment of children as domestic servants or workers, and as helpers in dhabas, restaurants, hotels, motels, teashops, resorts, spas and other recreational centres. The ban, effective from October 10 this year, has been imposed under the Child Labour (Prohibition & Regulation) Act, 1986. "
Most of the federal legislations run into problems in promulgation and execution. Will they adopt a strong carrot ( To those who report an underage kid being employed) & Stick ( Strong punishment for the perpetrators of the crime) approach to ensure its success?

Arun, yes we do wish the carrot and stick to be shown. But i'm not too sure of how they are going to execute it.

hari - unless they show some pro-activeness, this would be yet another law on paper.
